Audeze Artist Profile

David Kosten

David Kosten began his producing career recording other artist's demos in a makeshift 'studio' at his parent's house. After a chance encounter with a guitar-playing ad agency dropout, he found a far more character-building way of earning a crust, through creating TV ad soundtracks. This major stroke of luck funded his ambition to get off the dole, create a small studio and to make uncompromising music under his Faultline alias.

His second Faultline album featured guest vocalists Chris Martin, Michael Stipe and The Flaming Lips, and in turn led to production gigs with artists such as Bat For Lashes, Keane, Everything Everything and Marina and The Diamonds, among many others. His recent production and mix work with Steven Wilson led to a Grammy nomination for immersive sound, and a new interest in mixing audio in Dolby Atmos.

David now also specialises in rebuilding mixes of classic albums from the original multitrack tapes - recent work includes Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield, Into The Gap by The Thompson Twins, No Parlez by Paul Young, Keane's Hopes and Fears and pop classic Murder On The Dancefloor by Sophie Ellis Bextor.

About the Headphones

"The precision and depth of the stereo imaging and the astonishing trustworthiness of the mixes I've made across other playback systems has allowed me to work better, much faster and more enjoyably too."
