"These are awesome cans. I power them with a topping G5 and get great sound. Also the BTR17 Bluetooth is great for wandering around. Definitely would buy them again. Seem heavy at first but they just melt to your head."
"They sound good and are fairly comfortable considering the weight. The headband isn't very finely adjustable, tough, so they either sit uncomfortably low or high on my ears. I wish the headband could be adjusted more finely. That would make them just about the perfect tracking headphones."
"Comfortable on my head, build quality is top notch, sound is spacious for a closed back! After a bit of EQ, they really sound terrific! Perfect companion to my LCD2 fazors when I want to close off the outside noise. I don't think I could be happier!"
"I've been using the LCD-S20 in the studio when tracking drums and it sounds excellent and really isolates well. It'd been difficult to find a headphones that does both great but this does. Very happy with these."
"My experience with the S20s has proven extremely fruitful. With another unnamed brand during a tracking session I had to bring earplugs and crank them up loud to enjoy myself. With the S20s, I brought them in the next day and put them on. The isolation was significant and I didn’t have to strain my ears. These headphones are not just incredible by detail, they are also incredible for your auditory health."
"I think these do a fantastic job for recording vocals. Very isolated compared to others and cover my big ears with ease. They do have a little weight to them, but nothing I really notice much. I’m not sure why they decided on fabric on the outside of the ear cups, but not a big deal either. They sound pretty good for closed back. I wish they had just a touch more natural lows, but for tracking vocals it’s just fine."
"I can hear depth and detail in the midrange that I’ve never heard with another pair of headphones. They’ll take a little getting used to with their low range response, since I used another pair of headphones for the better part of twelve years, but I’m loving them so far. And the closed back design will be great for tracking drums."
"Ive had this headphone for over a month now, and I have to say they are pretty incredible for the price. Its very obviously not neutral when you listen to it as the bass and rumble do immediately show themselves as front and center, but not like your regular "bass cannon". The notes are still clear and crisp enough to hear the trebble, and the extra bass doesnt come off as wooly or bloated. It gives a listening experience that's impossible to offend. . . . nothing was fatuiging or sharp. But all still quite clear while being very warm and immersive. Its kinda hard to describe bass like this as ive not heard as much bass sound so clean, but im assuming its because the bass lift is really in the sub bass. It doesn't slam like something with a mid bass hump, but it does rumble. If this was my first headphone, I probably would have spent alot less on headphones. . . . . not for being the most "true to artist intent" or anything. . . . just exactly the right amount of bass, and never in the least bit offensive or sharp, all while still having good rumble and a nice tactile sense to notes."
"Before I start, I’m already a big fan of the Audeze sound. I own the LCD-3 and run it through a FiiO K17, and I love that setup. But at home, things can get noisy, and sometimes I just want to shut the world out and enjoy my music without distractions. That’s why I picked up the LCD-S20. Like any closed-back headphone, it has some of the usual limitations, but compared to every other closed-back I’ve tried, nothing comes close. It still sounds natural, never boxy or overly “closed-in. ” The bass is solid and well-controlled, and the overall presentation stays faithful to the Audeze signature I fell in love with on the LCD-3. If I want absolute openness, punchy bass and soundstage, I’ll still reach for my LCD-3. But when I need isolation without sacrificing too much of that natural, spacious sound, the LCD-S20 is perfect. I honestly don’t feel the need to shop around for another closed-back headphone anytime soon. This one ticks all the boxes for me."
"I love the LCD-S20s. The soundstage is huge and accurate, like super accurate. The precision of detail in the sounds is really awesome. I have the LCD-Xs as well, and I use the LCD-S20s a lot more frequently. It is nice to not need an amp and still get great quality playing straight off my phone or computer. The bass is deep but not muddy, and the mids and highs are snappy and detailed. These are my go-to cans for dialing in a mix or tones before recording. I have used them some for mastering, but still use my LCD-Xs mostly for mastering. Here’s a song I did recently where I used the LCD-S20s to mix and master: https://youtu***/59-2uny6rSc I highly recommend the LCD-S20s."
